Question Adolescent with pityriasis rosea

In an adolescent presenting with pytyriasis rosea, which of the following would be an appropriate blood test to order?

A. Blood glucose
B. Complete blood count
C. Fluorescent antinuclear antibody (FANA)
D. Hepatitis A immunoglobulin
E. Venereal Disease Research lab

answer is e vdrl to differentiate from syphilis

Answer is E. Pityriasis rosea is a papulosquamous eruption consisting of multiple oval-shaped scaling lesions which are truncal in distribution. This eruption resembles eruption of 2dary syphilis , although the rash often involves palms and soles.
