Default USMLE CK last night

So guys I have been a silent participant of this forum for sometime. I prepared for CK almost a year because I wanted to have a great score as good as my step one and I solicited every advice that my friends who took the test before me could give. I studied Kaplan books and videos, MTB2 and 3, and did kapaln qbank x 1, uworld twice and a half and did great on NBME 4 and UWorld Assessment.

The Day: I had great hopes and high spirit to kill the monster. Had a great breakfast along with my Skinny Vanilla Latae.
First Block: it was very difficult. Questions were too long. No time to read it twice. I only had 5 minutes remaining to answer the last 8 questions. I had to do a lot of guessing just to finish the block before my time ends. I was very frustrated because i knew I could answer them well given enough time to even read the questions which I did not!
Second Block: Took a 3 minutes break just at my desk and planned for my next attack. I had to read faster and the fastest I possibly can. However, the questions were not getting any shorter but the opposite not to mention the media, clips, and exhibit that came with them. I did my very very best to finish but I was not able to read the last 2 questions at all. Just had to click on the choices blindly-like suturing a lacerated wound without looking at it (joke)
3rd block: Went out for a break. First few questions were straight forward and not very long. It gave me hope. Some of them made be wonder if they were trying to put me in a trap. Just like asking "who is the president of the USA". If you get this question believe it , click and move!... and comes the Drug Ads, Abstract, and more multimedia...wheaooooooH!! Guys make sure practice and make your own approach in attacking these type of questions.
4th block--after the 4rth block, i went for a long break (20 minutes for lunch). Questions were like the first 2 blocks and did not get any better until the end. In other words the 3rd block was relatively easy for me but after that i found all questions to be long and there were always 2 possible answers left that you just need to pick the best of the "BESTEST"
My honest opinion: Uworld and MTB's were not enough. I believe that exam makers knew whats inside these materials and the knowledge in medicine can not be squeezed in just these materials that has been very popular for years. To be honest- I did uworld twice and half and basically memorized all the concepts averaging 88-92 on my second round but the actual deal was different. Doing kaplan qbank has helped me with ethics questions. The only benefit I got from uworld is time management and structure. COncepts tested in my exam were totally different, I feel that i should have studied step one materials as well and should read more current medical trends. This is not to scare you guys but I dont want to lie saying uworld and MTB are enough for this test. I am telling you the truth because there is nothing in uworld that I dont know and familiar with but there were distant from the actual deal in my test. Maybe I got the wrong set? Most of my friends took the test before July 31 and they advised me to revise revise and revise u world. I am not allowed to give details but some step one concepts were in my test (G's). Expect the unexpected concepts for ethics, psyche, and do not ignore your pedia and OBGYN. Do kaplan qbank if you have time. Study broadly
On another note, if CK is a 'real-time', 'real-world' --it would be a dangerous practice of medicine. I say this because you are compelled to make decisions without enough time to analyze or even read the case.
Good luck to all of you!

thanks, I'm concern about my preparation, I'm reading just MTB 2 and MTB 3, and the next week I'm going to start with UWorld, hoping to take this exam as soon as I get a good score to apply this year.

I appreciate your experience and I'm going to check First Aid step 1 as well, at least a rapid review.

just done with ck 2 days ago
the exam contains all level of difficulty as about 25%very easy question 25 intermediate and 50 hard Q.
I believe the tough question not present from any common source of study materials.
But the good thing there is a lot of questions explained by UW and at least cover 60 percent of the exam.
hope to score good for all of us

your post is freaking me out a bit TBH. Because I have just used MTBs and u-world so far, for my test. And I am planning to take it asap. I am concerned whether I should start KLN. I am already done with my uw :/ and about to assess myself with uwsa in a couple of days!
