Question Photosensitivity + Swollen Ankles!

A 26 y old female complains of photosensitivity since past few days. On examination you find bilateral ankle swelling. She further agrees that she gets now and then pain in her ankle joints and sometime her mouth get burn on eating spicey food. On auscultation lung is normal but pericardial rub is heard. What is the diagnosis?
A. Drug induced lupus
B. SLE
C. Thromboangitis obliterans
D. Behcet syndrome

B. SLE ithink because photosenstivity and pericarditis

Behcet syndrome has painfull oral and genital ulcer and arthritis and erythema nodosum no pericarditis or photosenstivity

Answer is B. SLE: will have above features and involve multisystem
A. will have history of drug intake
C. will have hand and feet burning pain, tingling
D. presents mainly with aphthous ulcer

I was not too sure of mouth involvement in SLE. Here is my reading-just to share!

Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), as part of the name implies, may affect any part of the body. The mouth is no exception and indeed one of the diagnostic criteria for SLE is mouth ulceration, although not everybody with SLE will have mouth lesions.
As well as mouth ulcers, other oral manifestations of SLE include:
  • Sjogren’s syndrome (dry mouth and dry eyes).
  • Lupoid lesions (white patches that may be associated with ulcers).
  • Drug-induced lesions (a side effect of medication-e.g.) Methotrexate
