Took mine on the 17th Sept. CHRIST. That was harder than Step 1, Didn't have time to finish a few blocks, Uworld was so easy compared to this. No idea what went wrong in my prep, I did decently on the assessments as well >240

Was so disappointed after the exam. GODDAMMIT.

Hi guys, i am hoping we get our scores back this wed. My extension has not been removed either. What does that mean? I honestly felt the exam was very difficult and I'm so scared for the results.

hmm, my permit disappeared, I can only extend my eligibility now or start a new application. People in another forum said it's nothing. There is not way to find out if you pass or fail from those things

Let's hope...

Question Is it 8th or 15th?

For someone who has taken the exam on 23rd September 2014, when is the result expected? Is it today or in a week? Highly appreciate any inputs. Thanks! Good Luck!

It is not mine. I ask for a friend. And yes, his permit disappeared. But does it really have something to do with the permit disappearing? Because my friend says that his permit disappeared more than a week ago.

my score is low, but I passed.
I am working full time, very intense job right now, was not able to get any days off, except the day of the exam.
Originally scheduled exam for 8/28/14 but got 192 on UWSA, re-scheduled for 9/16/14, 2 weeks before exam took NBME 6 got 210, NBME 6 3 days before exam 214, decided not to reschedule.
Final score 209. I am still happy that I passed. It's a hard exam, mentally and physically exhausting. I have two little kids. Had CS on May 23, then started preparation for CK. Overall I spent about 12 weeks, 3 - 4 hours after work and 7-8 hrs on weekends.

I studied about 3 months but only 3-4 hours per day as I work full time and have two little kids, one just turned 7 months .
Only last 4 weeks I studied all Saturdays and Sundays full time, before I would reserve Sundays for family and other misc. stuff.
I read Kaplan books in the beginning, but I doubt I remembered anything from them. Then read MTB 2 and 3 and did uw qbank. Due to time constrains I was only reading uw explanations for questions I did wrong or had problems answering. The first time around I used uw in tutor mode subject wise, my overall was about 62%, then I reset and started using in timed random and my overall was 71%. I did not finish the whole bank, probably completed 70%, last few blocks were in 80%s. For heart sounds and EKG was using practicalclinicalskills.com. My cardiovascular always was my worst subject on assessments, so used that website to learn how differentiate heart sounds and read different EKG, based on my real score, cardiovascular was best compared to other subjects. I did have couple EKGs and couple heart sounds and had no problems identifying those just by listening.
Overall, if someone has the ability to study full time and read uw explanations well and learn from those, it should help to do better than just passing. I know people who finished Kaplan qbank were getting better scores, but not sure how accurate this information is. Good luck to everyone.

Thanks khmariam and maverickjatt. I studied 5 months for ck. Did internal medicine from mtb2 and peds, gyne obs, surgery and psychiatry from mtb 3. Finished 2 reads and then started uworld. Got overall 73% in first go. I made all the notes of everything i found in uworld that i didnt know before. I did 1.5 blocks each day almost with explaination. Then did one more read of mtbs and started revising uworld again. This time my average score was around 92%. I quickly did it in 25 days along with the explainations. In the last 3 weeks or so i read "only ekg book u'll ever need" for ekg. Did ethics and biostats from highyield which i had read in step 1 also. In bw my preps i gave nbmes. The last 2 i gave were nbme 4 and uwsa in both of which i scored 242.

Exam day
Took break after every block. Exam was just like uworld but stems were long. Although i scored just 232 but let me tell you mtb2,3,uw are enough for prep if u do them thoroughly. My classfellows gave exams via this approach and gave exam within 4 months of preps and most of them scored high 240s and 250s.

Best of luck to everybody

My preparation was one month im from mtb2 and kaplan note
Rest from first aid + uw offline for 2 moth
Then online for 1 month
In my viwe Uw and mtb2 is enough to pass the exam and to get 220+
But if u want to score more than 240
You should do another Qbank
Like kaplan

233 on the Step 2 CK. PHEW. not great and I did put in quite abit of effort in the midst of my psychiatry rotation but I thought I failed.

Passed Step 2 CS First Attempt as well.

Step 1 240

What do you think are my chances for matching into a University IM program assuming that my CV is decent?

Thank you maverickjatt.

I used MTB 2 and 3,UW. I skipped IM in MTB 3 and a couple of topics in MTB 2. otherwise I did everything rest. I took about 3 months to prepare. finished one read of MTBs and then started UW and took notes of almost everything I didn't know. I did one round of UW and then I did only incorrect questions until I had none left. that way you will know where you repeatedly make mistakes.
Also, I felt it is necessary to start UW early during the preparations. people differ in their approach. some like to do it random, some like to do it subject-wise. its a personal opinion. but you should always do it in timed-mode. I had serious issues in real test with time management as the stems were ridiculously long. I couldn't attempt about 5-8 questions.

NBME 6 : 217 ( 4 weeks before exam )
UWSA : 238 ( 2 weeks before exam )
NBME 7 : 208 ( 1 week before exam )
Real score : 232

NBME 7 was a real bummer. I postponed my test because my confidence was shattered. I then just tried to do UW and some revision during that period.
I tried to read few other review books towards the end like secrets, first aid. but nothing interested when compared to UW. but I have some friends who did secrets in the last week.
I would be more than happy to help if anyone needs more information.
Thanks and congrats to everyone again. goodluck to all
