Planning CK prep after a very low step 1 score

hi guys

I got my step 1 score yesterday which was 77/191,though depressed i hv made up my mind to continue my ck prep. I started prep 2wks back with O&G, i plan to give the exam in nov-dec, is this time span enough for ck prep?

Infact after working for a period of more than 7 months i got a very bad score....so im totally worried...as i hv to get 90s for ck.

I can read abt 8-9 hrs a day, many of my friends suggest a time span of 4-5 months for the prep...... plz friends, help me with some advice

You should start figuring out what happened in your previous exam, why you get that score and fix the issues you may find. Probably you have to practice more questions and take an NBME test prior to set a exam date so you see how is your performance. Make a schedule of studying, that is very important.

All the best.

Hi, first of all forget that u got a score like that. We all know where we went wrong with the step-1 process. Identify the weakness, was it less practice or concepts were not clear etc. U have to believe that u can do it.
Find a good study partner who should keep u motivated. It is very easy to lose hope in these circumstances. Just keep trying. I am sure u will get good score in Step-2 CK. Then go for some USCE or Research.
Consider the matching in Residency as a Job interview where u have to make your overall profile better.
And above all pray to GOD :-)

Just know your deficit like whether its due to defective kowledge, defective application, defective concept understanding, less questions done previously. Since doing more questions also improves your exposure of different way of asking same questions in exam. If u aim in getting 99 in ck no one can stops you. True and strong determination and hardwork is required. So goodluck
