NBME 4 predicted 209, should I postpone!

I just did NBME form 4.. it says 410 !! .. that's 209 in real exam

I finished UW 1 week ago with randomized timed blocks and I had an average of 63 which corresponds to 230 !

the thing is my performance was excellent in many aspects. I had a very bad performance though in Peds, Gyne, Psychiatry and Haem and Onc.. And guess what? My exam is in one week!

Please help me. should I postpone the exam and lose a whole year or can I revise those bad aspects and rise my score? a score of 230 would be great!

I am so confused. please help me

If I were you, I would do another NBME and decide from there. If it's consistent with the previous one, pospone, specially if you are applying to a competitive specialty.
And one thing... who says UW 63% corresponds to 230?

Thank you for you reply. I've been freaking out and just waiting for anyone to reply . I guess that would be an option. Another option is to revise peds and Gyne ( my worst performance ) and do their questions again. I guess I have to work it through

I see. Those score calculators are somewhat good, but they tend to overestimate the score. At least they did to me in Step 1. Please note that the Clinical Review Score Calculator is designed for Step 1.

BEST predictors are NBMEs and if I were you, I would believe in the score that the NBME gives you and not other sources.

If you want, you can review your weak areas for a day or two, and then take the NBME.

You know what? I just made my mind. I will go for it!

UW has been telling my that I will score at least in the mid 90's. I wont change that for a 200 question exam!

NBME said I am bad in Gyne. Ok. I answered like 30 Gyne questions in NBME. Now UW says I am good in Gyne, and I answered 300 Gyne Questions in UW! Sorry guys : I am not gonna trust NBME this time. In step 1 it underestimated my score by 11 3-digit marks. I think it underestimated my score this time too

I'm in same position as you, took nbme form 4 yest. and got 200 and have average of 70% on UWorld... im takin step 2 in 10 days, i thought some of the questions on form 4 were very weird

So I guess we only left with the option of doing the exam on time

I really don't think delaying the exam is the answer .. Go for it my friend and hopefully we can share our experience after the exam together

You do understand the difficulty in nbme and uw is not the same...the questions in nbme are weighted more so you loose more points if u miss one question as oppose to another....and i think u'll stil be good for residency if u take the exam before september ... I had high 60's even 70's in unsed timed questions and i got the same score for nbme and i delayed it a good 4 weeks....but if only gyn is ur problem..just review kaplan for it..its beautifull and u should be good...Best of luck ..Hope u kill it
