Help

Ive found many contradictions between uworld and MTB2/3, has anyone encountered these?? for example today on uworld says the MOST common cyanotic CHD is transposition of the great vessels, MTB2 says tetralogy of fallot is the MOST COMMON.... I guess go with uworld since its constantly updated??

what do you think guys about this.

Im almost done with uworld, have 15% left, its really time consuming or I dont know if its just me.
trying to do 2 blocks one day and next day I do 1 block and so on, cause its taking so much time to review the questions and write all the info down.

Ive read so much about how scores are very important these days and thats my main concern, trying to beat that step1 score I guess is everyones goal.
anyways GOOD LUCK to everyone and lets keep ourselves motivated
we can do this.
Thats great that you only have 15% to go, you'll have plenty of time to review notes and wrong answers. Yea taking me as long too to do blocks however fast I try but its reading the explanations that's most important anyway.
Yea have to beat step1 score cuz everyone generally does better in step 2 right but yea that goal seems far off now, but not too far!

decided to go for nbme 6, lets see what comes out of it!!

Dont let that disappointing you, keep your optimism up and focus on your weakest subjects and see how it goes.

Good luck next time.

Dont be let down Ive read in so many posts nbmes in step2ck UNDERpredict as opposed to what we know about step1.
did you take UWSA yet? I guess that one is more predictive but im not sure.
I would say gather yourself up relax and start to assess weak areas while doing topic-wise on uworld for reinforcement. maybe after that take another nbme and see the outcome. you still have time to ace this test

what do you think guys about this.
Also I found about cryptorchidism in uworld mentions orchiopexy BEFORE age 1, whereas MTB3 says NO treatment until age 1, wonder if this is changed on the new edition of MTB3?

Default Confused :(

Hi All .. I am an IMG setting for the exam on THURSDAY 26\2 ...
I started my preparation back in September and studied extensively for 3 months ... I studied UW 2013 offline subject-wise ... I was planning to sit for the exam in November but I scored low on NBME 4 (214) so postponed the exam and revised my notes after that i did the NBME 6 and scored (235) so i postponed my exam and extended my eligibility period ... I got back to work and was working full time work with 12 on-calls a month ... I tried hard to study extenisively but it was impossible to study more than 4-5 hours a day ..
I took off from work for 3 weeks and opened the UW Online and finished 37% of it with accumulative score of 85 % ..
- I did (NBME 7) 3 days ago and scored 244 ..
- I did UWSA yesterday and scored 261 ..
- Free-131 (88%) ...
All the assessments showed that psychiatry and immunology and blood are my weakest points ... what should I do on the remaining 5 days .. ???
- Should I continue the UW qbank as much as i can ??
- Should I do the Clinical mastery series ?? or at least my weakest subjects ??? but they don't offer answers .. right?
- Should I do the weakest subjects from UW Qbank????

I am aiming to score 250+ but I am afraid I couldn't achieve it ... I really don't know what is the best to benefit my score with the remaining days ... Can you help me .. please ..
Thanks in advance

Have confidence! You will do great! It's normal to be stressed out right before your exam. Review your weakest points from notes or UWorld, whatever it takes to master it.

Yeah after doing it it gave me a little confidence. Did you do it offline or online? Wanted to get an idea how much the score comes out to be

if u r planning to take only 2 NBMEs, i think u should do 4 & 7, & start with NBME 4, keep 7 for the end.

I didnt do any NBME yet, but this as i read from previous experiences.

good luck.

250 is equal to 240 and 260 in the MATCH's eyes.

thanks brain15!! I would say just keep on studying your weak areas and forgettables and of course know the labs by heart so you wont waste time on that.

Ill be posting my prep after I get my results, want to see that I pass to give proper advice, and regarding the test I didnt get any surprises thank God, I only prepared with MTB2 and 3 + uworld, FA step1 for some reference and FA step1 for biostat so I can safely say that the material covered there is enough to answer questions properly on test, but let me see my score first to firmly confirm this .
thanks and good luck to you too!!!

Took the exam yesterday. Finally done with CK too! The exam like Drpisho said was completely doable. Lots of stuff from uworld! Some questions were laughingly easy but there were some very vague ones in there too. Made some really stupid mistakes though which are haunting me. :/ anyway cant do anything about it now. Good luck to everyone who is giving the exam in the coming days!

Hey guys. Congratulations to the ppl who are done with the exam! Must be a tremendous relief. My Ck is in May. I will be done with uworld in about 10 days but I don't at all feel confident about all the information in it. I have a month and a half until exam day. Any advices on how to go about from here ??
