Default hypercalcemia

in short, is hypercalcemia associated with risk of fluid overload or volume depletion?

in reviewing one question, the explanation on one choice was: use of loop diuretics can prevent fluid overload in ptn with mod-severe hypercalcemia...
in explanation of another choice, it says hypercalcemia induced urin Na+ loss --> hypovolemia then worsens hypercalcemia by impairing Calcium clearance.

thanks and good luck to all

from what i remember you always give normal saline, calcitonin! Loop diuretics are generally not given unless the pt has heart failure.
