Default need help with psychiatry!

hi there,
i'm doing uworld now and all subjects seem fine except psychiatry where i am at the 41st percentile (about 62% correct) whereas other subs at 84-90th percentile. this is affecting my score in all blocks. i did 2 reads of kaplan notes and 1 read of MTB.
I don't know how to improve.
Please advise on what i can do to improve my score in psych further. 40% remaining uworld, exam on 23 aug

Bio, ethics and psy are my weak subjects too. May i know How much you are scoring in bio and ethics? Since you had already given reading then best will be to more questions. Have you given kaplan video a try. so listen to video and do more qusetions. Try kaplan q book or bank for psychiatry............

hey!
i read from KLN with videos and MTB-2 twice each, then did kaplan qbook with 65% in psych and then started on uworld. Biostat i am at 75% and 75th percentile but it's psychiatry that's worrying me. I have a usmle consult subscription as well which i will be trying too. Where r you in the prep process?

I am far far far behined........i did just 1 reading of kLN IM and now doing kaplan IM video ( i should have done video and theory simultaneously so now regretting) and pead. Planning to finish it by end of 1st week aug...since IM is considered major i want to be good with it..

I think then you should download or buy online psy step 2 ck questbank or review book like deja (or see poll results ) and give quick reading. Also check why low percentile its because of lack of information or application. some time what we dont know we cant apply.....SO where you are going wrong basically? and apply in that direction.

How many times have you done videos?

I'm not that good at psychiatry either. I didn't think the Kaplan book was that helpful for psychiatry. I have a lot of trouble deciding between different disorders in most likely diagnosis questions. MTB is ok. I mean it helps for some questions but not for others. I don't know what to do. Maybe I should try some more questions. It's really weird because I was really good at Behavioral Science for Step 1 (I got a star.) but for Step 2CK the psych questions got weird lol. Do you know of a question bank that has good psych questions? If you find one or find a good book to read that's hopefully short please let me know. I'll let you know if I find anything useful.

hmmm psych isnt that hard...i dont know why everyone has a problem with it...I think psych is my strongest with neuro being the worse because i havent really paid attention to it..
For psych do ur kaplan book..i think that should suffice because MTB doesnt offer much. the disorders are hard...You should do a detailed review of it in kaplan. Most of them are the same with different time intervals and they all have specific therapies so you cant go wrong with those. It helps immensely if you put all of them on the same page that way you can cross examine and cross out matching symptoms so ur left with specifics that characterize each one. This shouldnt take you more than a day and you should be able to grasp it in no time.....
If u have anything regarding Neuro please share i am basically hopeless at this time...

hey! thanx kais md! in fact, i am drawing tables for psych with all signs and symptoms and durations but i have problems with the drugs side effects and things like that (pharma has always troubled me), but i will do something.

for neuro, i strongly recommend step 1 neuroanatomy fron kaplan anatomy book. you have to be good at basics and this will give you just that. we can't remember everything especially in neuro (like post. cerebral artery syndromes; i hate them and never managed to remember any of them), but step-1 neuroanatomy is very very good and i strongly advise you to go through it once. (even though around 150 pages, one quick read is about 3 days; 50 pages per day)
good luck!
