answer from my notes:

dilated: sx of CHF (orthopnea, dyspnea, LL edema, PND etc)
MCC ischemic so that might be in the history (there are other causes though)

hypertrophic: less right side failure signs, more left sided signs. there's S4 (stiff ventricle) most common cause (MCC) HTN
with HOCM, sudden death in young person, usually athletic

restrictive:
has S3 and S4. kussmaul sign (JVD on inhalation)
more right sided symptoms.
