Listening Am I ready for next Tuesday!

Hey guys,

I have exam on Tuesday and i was wondering if anyone can give any creative and helpful suggestions.

so far in chronological (from taken in past to current) order:
nbme 4 530/237
uwsa 550/229
nbme 3 420/221 (yes I know! still haunts me! )
nbme 2 540/239 (2 days ago)
fred 77% correct today!

I am still bit hesitant about my preparedness on Tuesday! any thoughts?

thanks!

our scores are awesome...Althought you didn't include your world percentage..>You did better than me on nbme 2 and UWSA but i have a 85% on fred which apparently is indicative..i wanna know how you managed to get nice scores but mess up on fred...But i would say your more than ready..>Dont do anymore tests..>Review your high yield..specially preventive which are easy points, stats to refresh and go kill it..U'll bemore than fine...GOOD LUCK

i have about 30 pages of my notes remaining. I did not do uworld the second time and i am jus doing the incorrect ones. If all goes per schedule, uwsa would be tomorrow and nbme the day after or the next day.
God help us!
good luck bro!

i almost done with it the second time...if you grasp the info first time around that should be enough. lets see how you do on UWSA and specially the NBME...you should be fine since your prep is solid..Dont let a bad score ruin your mood..there are way too many variables...Good luck to you as well...let me know of the progress once you have taken your test...

yeah man! good luck to the both of us! While doing the first time, i remembered only the concepts and whatever i had to memorize, became my notes, so i am just hoping that things r retained back in the brain, but for the last 3 days, my prep has been marred by distractions. I just can't seem to focus!
i'll keep you updated as soon as i am done!

Same here....very distracted last 2 days thats why i am delaying nbme4..i dont know why but i dont feel like studying considering i am extremely anxious..maybe thats the reason....Take a long break..Forget about everything even if its a day and start fresh the next day..it'll be more productive...

hey you might want to contact them...i think there is an option in the begining to add the UWSA or you get it free...but either way you should speak to them about it because its a good indication of progress when your done with uw.
thanks for the support..>GOodluck

Cool

Good luck for all guys :sorry:

@ cerulean:

Review UWSA answers, fred answers and some biostatistic calculations today. Tomorrow you could review a little more but no more than midday. You should take that day off, going to the cinema perhaps.

You have done well, your scores are proof of it. Just go and kick that monster's ass....

i got my uwsa and it says 620/243.
block % are 77-61-79-79, average 75%
While doing the second block, i was dizzy and had double vision!!!! should have stopped but i did not want to delay the uwsa further, so i went ahead and did it.
And the worst thing, i used the keyboard while starting review of the answers and got blocked for 12hrs from using uworld. Damn i hate these rules! whats the point in not using the keyboard while doing uwsa?

anyways, i'll be doing nbme4 mostly tomorrow.
what's ur status?

NIce..thats a decent score..Now i kinda wish i had done UWSA now as compared to when i only did 40% of the world...It showed a 210 like 6 weeks ago....So i am hoping its alot better now llol...I am reviewing MTB my world notes and world blocks to about 93% second time around......two more days of then off to nbme4....When u take yours let me know if its harder than UWSA...because no 2 was no fun...lol GOOD LUCk

dude,
m done wit nbme4.
got 550/242 and this one correlates with my UWSA of 243.
Now i will concentrate on MTB2 because not much time left to finish the remaining incorrect answers of uworld. I highlighted my notes for review 8hrs before the exam, so i think uworld is not my priority anymore. 1 read of MTB 2 in 5 days! thats it. What do you think?

And a small piece of advice for you: While doing NBME4, keep to the ground! Don't think supernormally like we had to for uworld. That way, u'll be just fine!
I very strongly advise you to take the NBME4 immediately! like today if possible! Don't risk more time!
Keep me updated!

i took about 15 mins between the first 3 blocks and about 2hrs for the 4th block (dinner break) and i completed everything on the same day itself. I did the self paced mode (with more time) but i was able to finish the blocks within a max if 10 min extra per block on avg.
Just stay cool when doing these questions. They are basic and sometimes you will find yourself asking 2 urself: are they really asking this stuff
?? lol.
But there are some tricky questions too. I had 26 mistakes/184 questions: 86%

oh man..U did self timed mode...Y...its always better to assess yourself by how the real exam does......i havent done anything so far in tutor mode...because honestly it comes down to time rather than knowledge of the material.....Hmmm ia m takin mine today so i'll see how it goes

there were 2 reasons for me taking the tutor mode!
first, 46 questions instead of 44 and the second, everyone here scaring me about the "many weird" questions in the NBME's. Neither have i done anything to date in tutor mode and uwsa does not have one.
Its not how much time they give you to finish the block that matters, its just how much time you take to do them. It does not mean that if they give you 4 hrs to do it, you must take 4hrs to finish. You can do it in 1hr too.
Honestly, i did not find any "weird question", just some tricky ones, which i just answered with anything.
Gud luck with ur nbme and tell us hw it went!

yes, its 46 instead of 44 and there are two modes, which you have to select while buying because you cannot change it later . Timed gives you 1hr and tutor gives you 4hrs, but you can finish it as soon as you are done. no need to sit for 4hrs jus because they gave you that much time.

yes, its possible. It will not show you a separate screen asking if you want a break but the next block will start automatically and you have to suspend the block and take the break. You can resume anytime after that.

that is the exact reason i bought tutor mode, but i timed myself using my timer. I think its ok to do like that considering the fact that you are not taking 3hrs per block!
