USMLE Books Covering MTB-CK Deficiencies with MTB-3 or FA!

My exam is after 3 weeks, I just bought MTB-3 and I already have MTB-CK but it is deficient in pediatrics and obgyn general surgery
Which is better to do MTB-CK and I already did it before and just the deficient chapters from MTB-3 or it is better to do it from FA for the CK?

I think you both should do Peds and GYN in Kaplan CK Lecture Notes and at the same time with MTB and just add in notes that you don't remember..I did that now I don't have to go back to them..and honestly it doesn't take more than 2 days to finish the gyne book and another 2 for the peds...its worth it..

u sound like you have a memorization problem...I suggest u make cards from just peds and before u study every day just go over those cards.....eventual review will finally sit in..make sure if you are good with general info..just go over major differences....ur stressing too much...

whatever we might do, i am sure that we can't memorize everything. The best way is to understand the concept and move on. At this stage, like the last week before the exam, preparing flash cards is not a good idea to spend time on, because any form of making notes takes time. Write down something if you feel is absolutely essential to review before the exam in a notebook or something like that. We do not need to go into every small detailed number or alphabet because the questions will have clear margins (it won't say 10.1 if the upper limit is 10, for example). We all r stressed! I donno even now if i can finish mtb2 on time! and yesterday, i totally forgot the fact that UWSA has explanations too. Still reading them, and not able to do over 2blocks/day. totally out of focus!

Did you finish UW Qbank? I think you should focus on the topics that appear in this Qbank, there is no time to review everything again.

The same thing. In Peds, focus on the topics you will find in UW, then review the topics in Kaplan's book; you will cover most of the topics in the exam. As someone said previously: It's almost impossible to learn everything.
Surgery is more complicated because the sources for it are scarce, so reviewing UW would be a good option at this time.

LoL ur right....I am actually cruising thru MTB now with about 150 pages a day because i have marked everything i am a 100 percent sure of so that cuts alot of things out that way i get more review time for troubling things and review from uworld and kaplan notes...with tests over n over n over n over again....towards the end i should be able to cut it down abit more for a final review....dont give u have exactly a week...actually 6 days u have to take off the last ...Required....hang in there

I don't know how are USMLE consult questions, however it is good idea to do a new type of questions specially if you did UW twice. UW is a good preparation Qbank but, the exam has all kind of questions, some of them easy and others are very difficult.
It depends of how much time you have right now before the real exam. If you want to focus on an specific subject you could take a test choosing only peds and Ob/Gyn, then reviewing the topics you find in the bank. Make sure not to spend all OB/Gyn and Peds questions so you will be able to practice more questions after you take NBME 4.

Good luck.

iwill take ur advise in pedis and gyne review and solve uw 3rd time not read all explan only educational then review those topics in kaplan

in pedis there is 5 blocks and gyne 3 bloack so iwill do every block with education for 2 hours and rest of day review then in kaplan ihope 2 days will be enough for pedis and 2 days for gyne this will shift my nbme test too 24 august

i think pediatrics deserves to be done from kaplan notes more than obgyn, i will review surgery, paediatrics, obgyn from mtb 3 and do the 5 blocks of pediatrics after completing the uw with rapid review for high yield topics in pediatrics from kaplan adn regarding ibgyn i think the questions and mtb3 will be enough
isnot it?
