Syringe Which age groups should routinely get Influenza vaccine!

What are the recommendations for influenza vaccine in otherwise healthy adults;
1) above 50 yrs (Kaplan CK Lecture Notes)
2) above 65 yrs (uworld; must be a misprinting since it was not an official source of uworld that I looked at)
3) everyone (MTB_CK)

hey that was a good post....i would like to add another group to ur intramuscular category n that is children > 6months n < 2yrs.

so basically nasal is used for healthy pts btw 2yrs to 49 yrs
n I/M for both extremes of age, ppl with co morbidities, pregnant pts, immunocompromised pts.

If this question was asked 2 years ago, then kaplan notes would have been partially right, but as of 2010, everyone from age 6 months and above should get it.

Influenza vaccines(also known as flu shots) protect against the influenza. These vaccines are generally safe for your child. Read on this post on Influenza vaccine, its schedule, side effects and the main idea behind this vaccination. http://www.momjunction.com/articles/...-know_0075728/
