Unhappy burnt out and exhausted

feeling so burnt out and exhausted.no energy left to study anymore..exam in 10 days time ...and still to revise uw..and yet not taken nbme..i just can seem to focus on the books any more..i keep finding distractions , with much time wasted....what to do!!!!!!!!!!any advice...please!!!!!!!!!

hey stay relaxed....every1 studies hard for this exam, but i think only those come out with flying colors who have a control over their nerves...!! just be cool...u have done it all, n ull surely do it...!!!

and i would advise u, to take timely breaks....u cannot study continuously, so rather than feeling guilty about ur unscheduled breaks, plan them..! so that u have something to look fwd to...!!

this is EXACTLY how i feel right now, and my exam is in 16 days. I think the match and timelines might be on your mind in my case it has demotivated me a lot. But Take things one at a time. What i have just started is that i am putting a timjer - and for one hour i am not thinking about ANYTHING , not he match not the scores whatever and putting in atleast 5 - 6 of those "one hour sessions" in the day. Also - i highly recommend you delay if you have not taken your NBME. I am planning the same.. u can only take this exam once man....

You know what - I know exactly what you mean. I have managed to come up with the most creative ways to NOT focus. This timer idea that someone has suggested is brilliant, I've started doing that too. You can either download the timer free off the net or if your phone has one that is good too. My phone does, and now I will turn it on and read MTB - I make sure I am not taking more then 6 to 7 minutes per page. I have a lot of notes I have added to each page so that is how long it will take me. Also, if you find facebook etc to be a distraction (because I had that problem for Step 1) have a close friend change the password and not tell you. That way you have to kinda beg them over the weekend to be able to waste time. I know how easily we can pause a block on UW and then just start reading the news online - that I still deal with. If you can find a strict person checking in on you every few hours, it's less lonely.
Best of luck - you don't have much time, and it feels like we are so alone in our struggle. The depression can actually suck us in. But then hey - that's when forums help.
