Stats self selection bias

Here is an example of self selection bias.....

Let us say u want to check this....Taking a Kaplan course helps to score 99

ur groups are

1-Those who took the course and took STEP 2 CK...STUDY GROUP
2-Those who didn't took the course and took STEP 2 CK===CONTROL GROUP

AS u see it is a case control study...Taking the course as an exposure and getting 99 as an outcome......

Then you find the ODDS ratio ...and u reject the null hypothesis...Which was Taking a kaplan course doesnt help to get 99 .....

-but this study is not valid for the fact that ...The study Subjects select themselves to enroll and take KAPLAN ....So here you have self selection bias ...simply the study subjects select themselves to be in the STUDY group.....

share ur ideas regarding self selection bias
