Default NBME Forumla 1.4 (80% to pass) or 1.6 (72%) to pass?

Hey gang, I did a quick search on formula and did not see this exact topic, if I missed it ... then get over trolls.

I took NBME 3 online and it looks like they are using 1.44 formula to pass (210) which is about 80% correct.

However ...

The NBME 7 is using a new formula of 1.6 which is about 72% to pass (210)

80% to pass is not easy, especially if you have taken NBME 3 which is tricky

Just wondering if the new passing is 72% now ?? ...

Just an FYI ... I thought NBME 7 was harder than NBME 3 but ... NBME 3 was tricky in a lot of questions ... IMO

I looked at one of the polls out there and it stated that NBME 3 was not the best indicator of true score ... NBME 4 was one of the best along with the U-World test.
