Help My NBME 4 is terrible please help!

Hi,

I did the NBME form 4 yesterday and terrible surprised - 198 (310)!

I'm old graduated and studied about 9 months. In spite of I successfully passed Step 1 in the CK for me lot of new information except my specialization.

First I read once all Kaplan notes then mainly used MTB 2 and 3 + Kaplan Qbank.
I failed lot of questions because they weren't emphasized in MTB 2, 3 and Kaplan qbank (average 59% rand, unused). My Kaplan Qbank will end in about 1 month. Additionally I met in the MBME little bit other format of questions and this was not accustomed for me even sometimes I was like in panic and didn't answer even very easy questions.

And I'd say that my week points showed in NBME and Kaplan Qbank are absolutely differ. For example NBME think that I genius in "musculoskeletal, skin, connective tissue" but in same time skin is weak point in Kaplan qbank. Kaplan qbank think I'm OK in cardiovascular and in same time NBME doesn't think like this... etc

I did not set exam data but would like pass it in spring 2015. I planned to switch to UW after my NBME will be about 400... The score looks like I took NBME absolutely without preparing.
So I'm in frustration right now "what to do next"?

Any suggestions, comments... Please help me.

I have been preparing for 2 months and going to start uworld from tomorrow. What I have gathered from various posts is that u world is THE tool for ck preparation! So dont wastw any more nbme and just jump to uworld.that being said, I am sure your basic is already very strong bcoz kaplan qbank 59% is really good.you just need to give it a final touch by uworld!

I just remember strong correlation NBMEs with step 1 and I went to the exam after my NBME was more than 400. But there was actually strong correlation with weak topics by NBME as well as Kaplan qbank. And on CK I see something other
It is Kaplan qbank does not correct or NBME?

Yes I planed to go UW after I have about NBME more than 350, kind of the UW for control shot. Do you think no need use Kaplan qbank for failed questions (I have one month)?

Well I think I wont be the right person to answer your questions as I am just going through this preparation. But most peple here has addressed kap qbank as low yield though its really difficult. But you should not judge your performance frm kap qbank. Unless you are done with u world at least once you cant judge your preparation.
Just go through different posts over this forum, you ll have more idea.
