what are the indication of abdominal CT/USG in a case of acute pyelonephritis??

i think,the only indication in such a case is to determine the etiology... is there any tumor, stricture , stone or anatomic defect !

thanks, but I actually meant to say that, at what stage/point of treatment we should order such a test...

It's not neccesary if clinical picture is highly suspicious.
You would perform it after about 48 hours if there's no improvement with appropriate antibiotic therapy to rule out perinephric abscess or similar.

decision about to take CT/US entirely depends upon the patient's present condition... if feels critical, no improvement with prescribed med or any other undesirable symptoms . hope it will satisfy ur question point !
