IM is good.. for rest MTB-3 is recommended.

However i hav used only MTB-Ck and i have supplemented it from notes from UW. I think anything MTB-CK lacks, UW covers up for it..

Only used MTB CK, supplemented with KLN-CK and made notes on side in MTB book.
Clearly deficient is GYN and Orthopedics in my opinion.

Depends on your previous knowledge, I suppose. I needed KLN for GYN, UW is probably enough for Ortho.

You are completely right, depends on your previous knowledge. If you are deficient in one subject, you have to spend more time in that section.

MTB 2 is a good review book for IM. Pediatrics, Surgery and Ob-Gyn is not as good as Kaplan books. There is a table in surgery about postoperative fever which is very useful. However, I recommend to look for another source for reviewing it, in my case I used UW questions to have an idea of what to study. I cannot say anything about MTB 3 because I didn't read it.

In conclusion: MTB is a good review book, but your performance in the exam will depend on your previous knowledge and your study of additional material such as Kaplan books and UW. It is strong in IM topics.

Kaplan book work well with Ob-Gyn question and UW with surgery questions. I have felt that pediatrics has a lot of subjects related to pathology of step 1 so you have to refresh your knowledge about it.

I hope my opinion is useful to you. Good luck in your exam
