Default Is not showing up for test counted as an attempt?

Hi, is anyone here?
I wanted to know if this still works today. I checked out this before, and some have tried this.
My test is this month, I already extended my eligibility period, but still not ready for this test right now.
I wanted to make sure that not showing up for test won't count as an attempt, and won't cause any trouble for me in the future.
If the only downside is reapplying, and paying the fee again, then that's really a small lost compared to failing it.
I had a breakdown last time during step 1 and totally screwed myself up, and got myself into serious trouble, ended up writing a lot of explanation letters to the committe, definitely can't risk anything this time.
Anyway, enough of my jibber jabber.
Will this count as an attempt?
Will this appear on my transcript?
And also, does anyone know how long is thewaiting period in between the cancellation date and ability to reapply for a new eligibility period?
Thank you for your help in advance.

Hi guys. Related to the question above.
I have not even selected a test date and my normal eligibility period ends this month. I'm not wanting to extend since I also won't be able to take the test.
What do I do? Should I wait till eligibility ends? Or should I notify ECFMG that I'm not taking test.

I'm pretty sure it doesn't count as an attempt.
hope someone can respond to us.

an attempt is if you actually sat for the test , so not showing up is not an attempt, but u will loose the $$$. since u are sure of not taking the test why not just let ecfmg know.?.

Is that I don't know what to do in that case. It isn't like they will make me a refund or something so.
but I will write to them.

Thank you!

I think you must sit in a test to call it an attempt, but not showing at all will be consider as "forfeit".

Don't invent things. Nothing like that appears. You only loose the money that's all!

Cancelling the exam does not count as an attempt
