Kids IUGR symetrical vs asymetrical

As taught on Kaplan CK lecture Notes, fetal problems eg aneuploidy, infection , structural anomalies causes symmetrical IUGR
Placental and maternal condition causes asymmetrical

Can maternal condition causes symmetrical IUGR (one line sentence again in first AID Q&A for the CK said maternal condition does)

i remember solving one question in the obstetrics section on IUGR but the answer was in utero infection while all the other choices were talking about either placental or maternal conditions so i don't think first aid got this question wrong. can you give me the number of the question you are talking about ?

that is exactly the one i was talking about... in the explanation first 2-3 mention that maternal condition causes symmetrical IUGR.. it make sence but any maternal condition would somehow influence uteroplacental disturbance rite?... so i was asking any specific maternal conditions that would cause sym IUGR?

well i can't think of any maternal condition that would cause symmetric growth retardation, only one thing that he could be talking about is maternal use of alcohol .

Default Timeline of IUGR

There's a discrepancy between what UW and MTB-2 say

Asymmetrical- UW says after 28 week, MTB-2 says after 20 weeks
Symmetrical- UW says before 28, MTB2 says before 20 weeks

What should I go with?
