Warning! Step 2 CK is now harder than USMLE World
I finished my step 2 CK, it was much harder than expected to say the least..

Look at the attached poll, let me know what you think.

Also, I want to know if there is any adjustment of the test scores according to difficulty of the exam for each student? or is it just the number of questions you answer?

I think this is becoming a trend now.... thank god! I took exam few days ago and I found the test HARD.... like I was unsure of 25-30% Questions! I ascribed it to my sleeplessness , but few more have been saying that test is hard.

USMLE is marked according to the dustin-anghoff method or something, where the "probability of average student getting it right" is measured against your performance - so for harder questions, the number needed to get same three digit score will be less...... let us pray it is so.

I took it on 19 Oct and it is more difficult than usmleworld
I share ur opinion let us pray my friends that god have mercy on us and finish these stressful days till our results are declared

Your Absolutely right, The exam was harder than uworld and inspite of doing uworld twice i found certain questions very vague with no proper clues or needed description and the q's were so lengthy and my block closed twice and missed 5 q's on the whole. I took the exam on the 27th october. i hope i pass.

I don't know .. I believe USMLE tests are standardized .. if the test is much harder in a given period then the average number of questions answered by the applicants will drop so ultimately this will not affect your score

Still seems like a good possibility. I have been hearing from other classmates that the test is much more vague than UW, i.e. more info provided in UW questions. What do you think a better strategy is to overcome that? I'm not sure how much more reading or review book is going to help. I asked earlier about kaplan's qbank but nobody responded. I wanted to know how those were apart from the few posts already mentioned here.

all the best to all of u for ur results.

so what do u guys suggest to people like us who r appearing a month after now ,shall we focus more in kaplan lecture notes then uworld revision now as I m going to finish uworld, so what strategy whould we follow from now onward ?
I saw few posts focusing more in pathopysiology so does that mean we need to focus more in this aspect..
please frens who have appeared recently, guide us in our prep, getting more distracted when it's time to focus more hearing all these changes

How about adding "Exam easier/harder/around same difficulty as NBMEs"?

Also can we have a poll on the best options to get around this problem as far as prep goes, i.e. what is the best comprehensive combo to tackle this challenge nowadays? I personally, would love to see some opinions posted on this issue. Thank you.

I guess regarding studying there is nothing much you can do about it other than studying Kaplan, FA, and UW. the most important thing is being fast in the exam to make sure you dont run out of time, and so you can go back to the marked questions and double check them.

I felt the real CK exam was easier than the questions in UW. But my opinion is only as good as my score, which shall be out next week. :S

i gave the test on 7th november nd i found tht i m nt sure abt it how i performed which i thnk i was after giving step 1...maybe i m 4th yr student nd i m nt done with my final yr exam thts why...i had given my step1 during my 3rd yr nd my score was-252/99...

Took the ck in Feb 2012 found it to be tougher than UW but not as bad as the new kaplan Qbank. My advice to you would be solve questions, to perfect the timings of blocks! I kinda ran outta time in my 8th block (questions seemed tougher or I was probably drained). Goodluck to all!
