Arrow Devastated by the UWSA score , any advice ?!

Hey guy , I've just finished my UWSA & I actually got 213 as my predicted 3 digits score , I'm really devastated by that score since I've spent a lot of time preparing for the test & felt like I've done my best, but it looks like it's not enough , While I was solving the questions I knew I was screwing up & ran out of time in 2 blocks before finishing , spent a lot of time reading the question & read some questions twice & sometimes I knew that I know the answer & I've seen that question before but still got the answer wrong.
I'm not whining since my exam is next Tuesday , but just wanna know how predictive is it & how bad is my score ??
I'm planning on doing NBME 2 & 4 in the next couple of days .

I've just taken a quick look on the question I've got wrong & realized that I've don a lot of _ I wanna say stupid but it's actually not enough_ mistakes , some questions 80-90% of people got right & I still got it wrong although it was fu**'n easy , I'm not making excuses to my self but I get I was very nervous .

First of all thanks for replying , & actually saying that you've got 214 in UWSA & 240 in the real thing made me feel whole lot better , I guess when I panicked that was when I screwed up , cause I've got 65 in the 1st block so I freaked out & wanted to make up for it so I immediately took the 2nd one so I've got 45 , & I realized if I don't calm down I'm gonna really mess it up , so I managed to cool down a little & got 68 & the last block I really was indifferent any more so I've got 70 % , so I guess when I panicked in the second block that was when I screwed up big time , cause actually it was the easiest of all 4 , I hope that's the case & I'm not just trying to make myself feel better ,& I've already done the free 150 Qs like 2 weeks back & got 80 something with one block in the upper 90s.

Hello Youmissed, i dont know why but i really have a strong feeling that you are going to get a great result at the end so dont worry and dont panick you've studied hard and you did all what you could do..and come on 214 is good on UWSA and be careful we are talking about USMLE WORLD here not just qbook or qbank.. And still you've got NBME so calm down now review your wrong answers and then do the NBME forms.. i believe you are gonna do good just trust your and believe in it..and remember after few days you'll be done this and you will be relaxin and chillin
good luck bro.. Waiting to here your experince.

Thanks a lot Sam , hope everything goes well in the test & don't lose it like I did in the UWSA ,I've actually just decided not to do any NBME after I learned that you don't get to know the answers & explanations like UWSA & it only tells you where you stand exactly & no matter where I stand right now it won't make any difference cause I'm giving the test in time , cause enough is enough.
so far I read kaplan almost twice + FA once+offline UW+online UW+80% of FA Q&A + 80% of kaplan QBook + UWSA + 340 pages of notes + free 150 Questions + I don't even remember what else & it's been over a year , so you can imagine how I feel right now. & usually I'm not that patient.
thanks for your support and wish me luck.

and how much % of question you did correct in uwsa? it must be around 65 i guess...curious...

well , FA Q&A Had very good questions , it didn't cover everything but I'd definitely recommend it , I wouldn't recommend Kaplan Qbook though , too much straight forward questions . & about the UWSA I had 65-45-68-70 , but to be honest it wasn't that hard but time is a big issue.

that's good enough,u have really reviewed lots of things so don't let ur anxiety to waste ur hard works..and tell me one thing is the free 150 Q&A everyone talking abt is fred 11 that is available in usmle site? I m confused as I have got step 2 ck content description which consists 3 blocks with key anwers without explanation and saw kaplan released answers of latest edition of usmle.org questions but only answers but no questions of these answers , so NOW I AM CONFUSED WHERE R THE QUESTIONS OF THOSE RELEASED ANSWERS N WHAT EXACTLY FREE 150 Q&A?please someone who knows this explain me :sorry::sorry:

the only free questions I know are from usmle.org , 3 blocks of 46 questions + 5 or 6 questions of multimedia , I'm not sure of the exact number though , with no explanations just the correct answers & I don't actually know about those kaplan explanations you mentioned.

ok,i saw the released anwsers from kaplan in this forum only, was searching for the questions, most probably then they r answers of 150 Q&A, need to check n will get to know what r those answers for, once i do those 150 free questions...
all the best for ur exm,u have work hard all these days.

Default Surprise !!!!!!!!!!!!!

After spending 24 hours straight on revision before the test with no sleep , 4 red bull , 3 cups of coffee & a pack of cigarettes ,I showed up at the prometric center & realized that I forgot my scheduling permit , I don't know how that happened , don't know what the f**k I'm gonna do now.

well for starters ure certainly taking this well. i guess this is God's way of allowing u more time. anyways with all that red bull n no sleep, i dun think u wud've survived the exam. call ecfmg n c what they can do. in the mean time, study ur weak areas and attempt more questions. try another UWSA (there is UWSA 1 n 2 rite?) or another NBME.

good luck!

ps: its better to pay more money to sit for the exam than to sit for it unprepared only to regret it later. step 2ck results is more important than step1.

I guess it's all for good , but now I called ecfmg they said it's clear on our end you're still in your eligibility period you have to work it out with the prometric center & I've been trying to reach them but I couldn't so I've sent them an email & god knows how long it's gonna take them to reply , the bad news is my eligibility period ends this month LOL. what do I do now ??!!

Here's what happened so people pay attention & don't think I'm stupid.
I usually use a 16 letters password, so I used the same password in my ecfmg account , but what happened is that the website only allowed a 15 letters password, so when I tried to use my password at the prometric site , which was the first time I tried to log on my account from a computer other than mine & the first time to use the password since it was saved on my computer , I entered the 16 letters password which I was sure it was correct , the thing is the website allowed me to enter the whole 16 letters instead of just the 15 , so with an extra letter it was a wrong password & it locked me out, so to think about it it was their fault , & the irony here , I was trying to be so secure that even I couldn't get in .

Show Teeth Another surprise !!!!!

Showed up at the prometric site as my test was scheduled for today after I was screwed over last week & this time I made sure that I had my scheduling permit on me but SURPRISE, they had to cancel as I'm taking the test in Egypt & there's a lot of bull sh*t going on these days so for security reasons they had to cancel & they said they're gonna call me to tell me when the new appointment is !!!
I couldn't stop laughing when I heard that.
May be next time the internet will be out or something , we'll see.

there's a question though, my eligibility period expires on November 30th & thing doesn't look like it's gonna get better anytime soon here , so probably they won't be able to schedule a new appointment before my eligibility period end , does that mean that I'm gonna have to pay ECFMG extension fees ????!! cause I think this was not my fault & I shouldn't .

waiting for your replies guys & who knows may be next time something more interesting will happen .

P.S. I think the admins of this forum should change the title of this thread to WTF !!!!

First of all i would like to say i understand your pain i practically went through the same ****(first with my schedualing permit and 2nd with them canceling on me) so i understand that laughter part also its either laugh or strangle someone

Best thing for you to do would be to call them up and ask them, talk to prometric initially then also call up ECFMG and like i said before dont take no for an answer.

Still here wishing it goes good for you whatever the outcome.
