That question has no definitive answer, everybody is a little bit lost in the beginning, and it's because, unlike step 1, there's no book(s) that can help you alone, you have to make a combination, thus one book fills the weaknesses of the other and vice versa, plus, the Qbank's are a must!!!! step 2 is more about practicing the questions than actually reading, specially if you took step 1 recently, since your knowledge is fresh, all you have to worry about in step 2 ck is next steps in prevention/diagnosis/management because in most cases you are able to make diagnosis, but i have to warn you that, ive heard from many users in this forum and peers of mine that step2ck has more vague questions, so you have to be well prepared for the unexpected.
Most of the people read kln+mtb+qbank(uw), but you will have to find the way of making your studies of your own, the combination above may be great for most of the people but might not work for you. Besides, i also depends of the time you have to take your step2ck.
