The easiest way

The easiest way for regular rhythm Is to calculate the # of large squares between two successive R waves then divide 300 over that #

For irregular rhythm it is more difficult
Calculate 20 large squares and count the # of R waves in that period then multiply with 15 ( bcs each large square is .2 sec so 20 squares equal 4 sec, and to reach 60 sec multiply by 15 ) or count 30 squares and multiply the # of R waves with 10 .

Hope it helps
