I have the same question guys. The thing is if we take ck later than July 10th, our score will be out not sooner than Sept 16th and we have to wait at least another 2 wks to get our ECFMG certifications. So we will mot be able to apply with ECFMG certification sooner than Sept 30th. Now the question is, assuming that I have a hight step 1 score and have passed cs in first try, if I apply on Sept 30th, am I going to lose good oppurtunities?! And what's the best approch to this?!

hey, im in a similar situation and hopefully someone whose done more research or been through it in the past can answer these questions.

The report states that "some" students will receive their scores on September 16th so can that be taken with a grain of salt where usmle is trying to play it safe and most of us will get our results in 4-5-6 weeks time?

Do we become ECFMG certified the day our result comes out (assuming step 1 and CS is done as well) or do we have to wait until the document is mailed to us?

Cause if we become certified the day the result comes out then i think we could send our application out that very same day (September 16th) which is 1 day late so it shouldn't make that much of a difference.........but if we have to wait until the document is mailed to us then we'll have to wait until September 30th(as mentioned above in another post) which could be a big problem.

Anyway,good luck to everyone.

Thanks for your post; you know what?! It all depends on the issuance date of our ECFMG certification. The main question is, after we get our score does it need a processing time for certification issuance?! Exactly when and how are we gonna know that we are certified?! Is there is notification sectin in ecfmg web site or sth to let us know that?! Or we'll know it when we receive the hard copy?!
