Why stridor more prominent during inspiration and wheezing more prominent during expiration ?
What is the mechanism of air trapping in lung in foreign body aspiration ? |

stridor appears during inspiration bec, the upper air way (larynx) become narrow than the lower air way so air passes in anarrow tract that causes this noisy inspiratory sound .
in wheezes the reverse occurs , during expiration the lower air way become narrow than upper and the process become active to overcome this narrowing ( normally it is negative ) in forigen body air trapping occurs as in ball and valve mechanism only one way as it allow air to enter inside the lung and lower air way become wider in inspiration , and donot allow to leave during expiration as the lower air way become narrower and and the lumen become completely obstructed by the forigen body ![]()
