Question Meningitis; most likely diagnosis

An alcoholic, elderly patient who is HIV-positive comes in with fever, headache, photophobia, and neck stiff ness.cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) protein level and white cell count are elevated with 2,300 neutrophils in the CSF

is it strep pneumo or listeria !!!

I am screwed...I think it should be pneumo. answer was listeria because of his risk factors. but still i think most common cause of meningitis regardless of risk factors is pneumo.

please comment...please provide ref. to genuine sources.

Did the question say what is the most common cause of his meningitis ?
