I think it really depends where you study and what exams you have to do in your university or country to become a doctor. I'm doing USMLE Step 2 CK during my prep for Swiss Federal Medical Licencing Exam where I have to study for 8 months for. From this 8 months I'll study 1 for USMLE Step 2 CK only (e.g. solving USMLE World q, reading 'Step up to medicine'). However, when you want to do all the Kaplan books, I think you will need at least 2 months? And most important is to do USMLE World!

My study material for USMLE: USMLE World, Step-up to medicine, Herold's internal medicine, mediscript Kurzlehrbuch Neurologie (German), Crashkurs Chirurgie (German). I don't really like First Aid for the USMLE Step 2 CK, it's too basic i guess.

Hope that was kind of useful

Hey, thanks for replying.
And I had about 5 months preparatory time for my final year exams, during which i read all these huge books, so i'm hoping on finishing the Kaplan review books by mid-July. *fingers-crossed* After that i'm hoping to start the UWorld Q bank. Let's see how that goes.
