You ll have to complete step 1, step 2 CK, and CS by September 2016 to participate in that years match. Similarly, by September 2017 to be able to apply that year.

If you prepare well for step 2 after final year then get done with step 2 before step 1. But, usually the reverse is advisable.

I graduated in Dec 2014 and decided to do STEP 2 ck ... probably because clinical knowledge of proff being carried forward to step. I am still preparing for the exam and hopefully would give it by August-September.
My advise to you would be to start STEP 1 as most of it will be carried forward to Step 2 ck. Whats even better is that if you do step 1 before step 2, you'll be able get through all exams quicker.
But if you want to start STEP 2ck first (due to personal preference or any other reason) keep in mind that you should study Pathology and Pathophysiology and/or Pharmacology, if you plan to score reasonably good (250+). Do as many questions as you can find ... u world, kaplan qbank and pay special emphasis on uworld. keep in mind that by doing this (2ck before 1)you'll be actually increasing the net time spent giving licensing exams.

By USCE if you mean electives, then I'm sorry to say you won't get electives after graduation. The term electives is strictly refered to Clinical Experience DURING your time as a medical student. This means from 1st year to the date of graduation. Keep in mind that graduation refers to the date you will receive your MBBS degree, your convocation date.

My advise to you would be to look for electives for the dates between the day your final proff ends and convocation date. You would want to apply as soon as possible if they lie within the October November December period as good spots get filled up very quickly. Utilize any holidays that come through your final year (with the exception of prep leave for the proff obviously)

If, God forbid, you don't get electives for your desired date then focus on your USMLE Step, which ever you decide to give first. Once you're done with the written examinations, apply for observerships or ,if your lucky enough, externships in USA. They are not ranked the same as electives but will help build up your C.V post examination.
