Default Remembered USMLE Question 207

A 55-year old man has a long history of hypertension and obesity presents on the clinic with a complaint of blood in urine ( hematuria ). He also complains of flank pain on his right side. He has a long history of smoking but never complained of anything like that before. He drinks socially and never takes any recreational drugs. He has lost 8 lb in the last six months. He is not on diet and doesn't exercise. Physical examination is normal except for a high blood pressure. Lab tests show high blood calcium levels, polycythemia and thrombocytosis. His x-ray shows multiple calcifications on the right lower abdomen. CT scan shows solid mass in the right kidney region. He is admitted to surgery for renal biopsy of the mass.
