Default took step 2 ck yesterday

Hello all. I took my step two ck exam yesterday. It was super difficult. I am an average student but I studied very hard for this exam mostly using uworld and mtb. I walked out of there thinking I bombed it. is this normal? any similar experiences would be helpful. my Uwsa and nbme 4 were both above 230 so I felt prepared enough

Hi. I took CK on July 30th 2015. I agree that it was somewhat difficult. I found it weird & challenging. Fingers crossed.

Hi Bro, for me it's even worse, I took it on July 30 and finished it without even reading around 15 qs...and there were some that I haven't even heard.
NBME I did for 235 and USWA for 255... So good luck to you and everyone who took this...

I took it yesterday as well. The exam was so weird.
ONLY 10% of the exam was from uworld and MTB, the rest of the exam (90 %) has nothing to do with uworld or MTB. I felt like I have never studied medicine before. It was full of weird weird questions and stuff that I have never heard of.

MTB and Uworld are definitly not enough for the exam any more. They cover very very very few questions.

My uwsa and nbme are in 240s, so I don't know what this means. I was hoping for a good score now I don't know if I will even pass!

Is it normal that most of the exam is from out side MTB and Uworld ?!!
I'm freaking out honestly.

Post your scores when you get them people...

I wanna see how much the self assessments AT PRESENT correlates to exam scores AT PRESENT. I assume they update the actual exam qbanks frequently but only update self assessments maybe every year or two..

I'll post mine (post worthy or not) when I get my scores..

I did mine two days ago and I found it to be fair.. Didn't feel overwhelmed which worries me. There was another person taking ck and all I kept hearing from him was "wtf, ****" and long expirations. Hopefully I lucked out on the exam version.. Oh and my last block only had 30 questions

To the people who have taken the exam-->
(First of all good luck on your results)

I have a few questions about the test ...

1.)Are there more audio visual questions ? If so how many did you guys get a guesstimate..

2.) Any histology slides?

3.) What was your hardest subject and which book was easy to follow?

Thanks for your time and all the best for your results !!

I also took it recently. The questions really threw me off, I went in with a UWSA around 260~ and 82% average on UWORLD.

I am literally just hoping for a 240 now and that a >15pt drop on my CK vs step 1 won't be the end of me.

Hey guys.
Yea, I took this exam today as well. I felt that it was much more difficult than STEP 1. Question were longs and timing was big issue for me. :/ I was hoping to crack 240 on this one but I am not even sure when I stand now. It will be long 2.5 weeks until 9/16/15.

I am certain of it. It's says here on the website:
http://www.usmle.org/announcements/?ContentId=160

"The USMLE program usually reports Step 2 Clinical Knowledge (CK) scores within four weeks of testing. However, because of necessary modifications to the test item pool, there will be a delay in reporting for some examinees who test between the week of July 13th through late August. The target date for reporting Step 2 CK scores for most examinees who test during this time period will be Wednesday, September 16, 2015."

I feel the same way as everybody here. I'm an average student. Actually below average. My Step 1 score was 215. I was hoping to get at least 225 on CK but IDK if that's gonna happen now. I walked out feeling like I completely failed it, let alone get 225. I'm in IMG, so a lot is riding on my CK score! Timing was a problem for me as well. The 3 abstract questions I had, I had to read through them really quickly and I had to guess on them. And then there were 3 other questions I had to completely guess on too b/c I just didn't have time to read them! My UWSA 3 days before the exam was 225. I was wondering, how did the exam result end up for all of you?

Default No problem...just move on....you will be surprised by your score.

Don't worry. The scoring of Step 2 CK is different than other tests. It goes by comparison with other medical students in USA. You will be surprised when you know your score. I have many students got horrible thoughts after the test but they got higher scores far more than expected. Just move on and don't think a lot about it. Have a great luck..

Hi MerryM,

Just got my result and it was within two points of my UWSA. Though I would've liked higher. What I can tell you is that make sure to devote enough time to study for this thing. At least 3 months of uninterrupted studying (by that I mean 6 days a week for 8 hours). There is no one single topic that is high yield. Everything is covered. Peds, OB, IM, surgery, and psych. As far as the resources go, if you like videos, go to onlinemeded.org and watch those. They are extremely good and will give you a solid framework for what to study. If you don't like videos, you can pay to get the written notes on onlinemeded. And I cannot emphasize more the importance of doing questions! Uworld is the best source out there. That's where the majority of the learning comes from. Because how you read a description of a disease written in the notes will not be the same way it appears in a question stem. It will be presented in some obscure way. That is where uworld comes in. Use it as a learning tool. Don't worry about what percentage you are getting. Just make sure you're learning. I would do at least 80 questions per day. Now, the real test is definitely harder than uworld, but uworld is a good start. For assessment, I would start off doing nbmes every 3 weeks to see how you are doing. Don't do NBME 7, it underpredicts. For the final assessment, do the UWSA. It is the most predictive measure. Hope this helps. Good luck with your journey!

Hi Gt! OMG i can not thank u enough for takin them time to replay my msg.
Congrats for ur step 2 ck grade ..feel good about it because these exams are very very challenging , are u planning to enter this match? what specialty do u like the most? .. i wish u well in your journey to come.

As far as ur advised i already went to onlinemeded... great videos...just to clear the concepts... thank u so much, i will continue to do u world every day as if it were my BF lol..... but normally it takes me like 3 hrs to review the entire 40 q block.... this is because i really go through every q even the good ones... i will try to do 2 blocks per day ... but thb i prefer to pay so much attention to the explanations after my blocks than to skip some of them.. is that a good idea? i just wanted to ask u a last thing... in terms of epidemiology, biostas etc... do u recommend me to buy the uworld review? i bought it when i studied for step 1, but idk if the step 2 ck epidemiology/biostats review is the same as the one for step 1.. do u know anything bout this?

again.. really thank u so so so much.. it really helped me.. i wish u all the best!!!! lets go and get that residency .
