Default management of appendicular mass?

Does Ochsner-Sherren regimen still hold true in the management of appendicular mass?

if we are given patient with suspected appendicular abscess\mass , what will be next step? drain or conservative mx [Ochsner-Sherren regimen].

does duration from onset of symptoms matter in mx of appendicular lumps?

very confusing please help...

If the pt comes after 5 days of symptoms--> treat conservatively with bowel rest and antibiotics. And do interval appendectomy in 6-8 weeks. (source:UW)
