Question Peptic Ulcer and DVT!

what is the treatment of choice for prophylaxis in case of peptic ulcer patient with DVT?

Anticoagulation is usually held or reversed until the bleed is assessed with endoscopy, for patients with atrial fibrillation - I am not sure about those with DVT; I think you'd need to know particulars to be able to weigh the risks of each...

If no bleed was seen then we can continue with anticoagulant in PUD with afib?

I think the risk of stroke in afib is greater than the risk of rebleeding in PUD, so usually if there is no active bleed the patient will be restarted on warfarin. There was a "Clinician's Corner" in November's JAMA about anticoagulant and antiplatelet therapy in patients with PUD, and they included some guidelines for resuming antiplatelet agents:

yes thats true..if we wont start on anticoagulant then risk of recurrent thrombus will be high so its better to start on anticoagulant once no active bleed is there on endoscopy...it would be nice to see the article too.....plz let us know about platelet guidelines ......@Mondoshawan thanks for making concept clear
