Default My experience: 248 step 2 CK before step1

Hello everyone, I've been reading alot of experiences here so now after i got my score I'd like to share my experience

Total study time: 5 months
NBME 4 (2.5 months out): 240
UWSA (12 days out): 261
NBME 7 (4 days out): 235
NBME 6 (2 days out) : 246
FRED (1 day out): 92%

I am an IMG, I finished MBBS in may 2015, i started with step 2 because i needed a motivation to study during summer...so i felt psychologically more ready to start with step 2 bcz my info was still fresh. My main source was UWORLD and MTB 2&3. I used to read the chapter from MTB in 2 to 3 hours just to refresh my knowledge and then start uworld... in the first run i did 1 block per day. I used to write alot of notes.. I collected at the end of the first run 4 large notebooks and these notes became my main reference till the end of the journey. I finished the first run and revised all my notes in 2.5 months, so i did NBME 4 online just to check if I'm on the right track or no and I got 240. I was satisfied and repeated UWORLD and MTB 2 again (MTB 3 for peds and gyne) .after the second run i felt more confident , i revised the notes again and added some new stuff. I revised my uworld notebooks like 4 times total. I did the rest of asessments as i mentioned above and my confident increased even more. I felt ready for the exam.

EXAM DAY:
I made sure I had enough sleep the day before, I slept for 9 hours.
The exam was not easy honestly and time management was the main issue. Some blocks were very hard that I marked 12 Qs and some were fine. I got like 2 biostat Qs per block. I felt i was using my Uworld knowledge and experience in 60% of the exam.

I was hoping for a 250+ but was also happy with this score hamdulilla

Finally my advice is : never listen to anyone's experience and apply it on u... u r the only one who can evaluate himself and decide what study material is enough for his level. For me UWORLD was enough maybe because I studied well in my last 2 years at college and studied step up to medcine and kaplan books in my clinical years. So my baseline level from the beginning was good that's why I didn't use other resources.

Good luck everyone and feel free to ask any Qs

i am also prepping for step 2 before step 1 , what step 1 material in your mind is essential for step 2?
