Drug chronic Atrial fib/flutter

do we need to give heparin with warfarin when we start anticoagulation for chr.AF/AFl ??

A. Warfarin takes a few days to start working
B. There is an early paradoxical thrombophilia, since Proteins C and S have the shortest half-life of the Vitamin-K-dependent factors

I thought it was heparin for 5days and start warfarrin on 3rd day ......

in know...but chronic AF that needs warfarin doesnt need heparin to start with... thats wat i read...funny and wierd !!
