first month read kaplan + IM videos

2nd month start UW along with mtb2 for IM , MTB 3 FOR OBG , SURG, PED ...... or first aid

3rd month UW for the second time , plus aking NBME and UWSA ... you have to work hard and fast

I'm taking step 2 ck in less than 40 days and I started studying about a month ago so I guess I'm doing exactly what you're asking about lol!
Here's what I did so far
First month: read Master the Boards all of it as well as cardio, OB/GYN from rapid review (the book isn't that good but these chapters were the only exception)
Second month: Did 60% of Kaplan Qbank and and 30% of UW
Third Month: I plan on finishing the two qbanks.
I won't do any of the qbanks twice because I find that useless, once I've answered the question then I'll probably remember it the second time I get to do it. I'd rather do new questions all the time to make sure that I understand the concept rather than just remember the answer.

P.S: If I have time, I might squeez in UWSA or an NBME at least 3 weeks before the exam.

Paid for UW 2 months + UWSA and I did about 1 block per day on average. I started reading FA for CK like 2 months before but only read about the first 4-5 chapters and then stopped. About 2 weeks before the test I read the peds + OB + GYN from FA and Step Up, and some random topics from FA.

UW subscription expired about 10 days before my test, I was missing about 150 questions (average 74%)

NBME 4 + UWSA 1 week before the test. 251 and 261 respectively

Total time was about 2 months + 1.5 weeks, took it real easy and got a score in the low 270s.

Though honestly I read a lot of non-USMLE material (actual medical articles) and I think that helped a lot. I also listened to MKSAP audio some time ago, which is a review for IM boards. I feel like CK was a lot more about reasoning than just learning a bunch of diseases or facts from books...

Yeah... I was a bit surprised as well, but I was also so happy! :P

I think investing time into GOOD Step 1 prep helps a lot for CK and makes it a lot easier.

So just a story for those out there like me... I started doing questions right away and was doing pretty good. I already knew most of the material (had to review a lot of ob/gyn) so I just read all the UW explanations, reviewed a bit and took the test (after an NBME and UWSA of course). UW was absolute gold btw. Awesome bank at least for CK (I didn't use it for Step 1)
