Thumbs Up My Step 2CK is DONE )))

Hi, friends! I just got my result for Step 2CK - 247 I had the exam at December 8th

Yes, I am happy, but a little bit concerned. My Step 1 score is 248. How do you think, it is bad that first score is higher then Step 2?

I am 32 yo and old grad, need visa. Do I have chances to get residency in internal medicine?

Thank you for the answers and good luck for everyone.

Hey congrats !!!

I don't think that there is any reason to worry about the scores since they are so close to each other.

Could elaborate more on your preparation for the exam?
--Duration of prep
--Materials used (which are better/worse/useless)
--Daily time spent on studying
--Tips?

Thanks and congratulation again!!!

Hello and thank you for support.
I've prepared for 4 months - August (just read MTB 2) - November. September-November I read MTB2/3 + USMLE World. Studied full time (5-6 hours per day) 5-6 days in week.
In November I made UWSA and NBMA every week + read my notes from USMLE world + NBME Clinical Master series.
UWSA 263
NBME 4-7 around 250 each+/- 3-4 - don't remember exactly.
About exam: preparation is much easier then for Step 1, but exam is much more difficult. I cannot compare real questions with any Q-bank I've made during preparation. Time management was very difficult too. I didn't have time to review my answers, that's why you have to answer only once without hope that you have time to return and review. There were a lot of Psychiatry, Behav and biostat. However, it's doable, just be very calm and answer.
Goof luck!

Honestly, generally biostat questions were very straightforward, nothing unique. Even abstracts weren't very difficult. The most hard section for me was Psychiatry - - long and very vague. My lowest performance is for psychiatry.

Are you joking? Answer these questions for me:
1. Is your Step 1 score significantly above average? Yes
2. Is your Step 2 score significantly above average? Yes
3. Is Internal Medicine among the most competitive fields in the U.S.? No

So... you tell me, do you have a shot at Internal Medicine? I'll answer that one for you too if you want

Congrats!

For Psychi I used: FA 1 step, UW, MTB2 (I really like it) and MTB 3 (=MTB2), NBME Clinical Master Series - it was wery helpfull, I highly recommend to do this tests for all subjects, if you are limited in money - surely to do it for Psychiatry.
