Blood Which anemia is this?

A 22-year-old black male presents to the emergency room after suddenly developing retrosternal chest pain that worsens on inspiration. He has also coughed up small amounts of dark red blood since the pain started and he has been short of breath. His previous medical history is notable for an episode of osteomyelitis in the femur. Physical examination reveals a temperature of 38.5C (101.3F) tachypnea, wheezing, and reduced breath sounds at the right lung base. Laboratory investigation reveals a hemoglobin of 8.2 g/dL.
