Hi there, I will be an IMG (in 1.5 months !!). During my 6th year, I studied Kaplan for Obs/Gyne and peds. I studied most of the IM from MedStudy and I studied almost 13 chapters from Harrison. I want to take Step 2 CK after my graduation. I plan to take it by next November. Shall I need to study Kaplan IM or shall I review MedStudy ... What are your thoughts about it ??

Kaplan or Medstudy

Kaplan has been tried and tested for USMLE step2ck. Medstudy is supposed to be very detailed ( it is designed for ABIM after all) and it may not be high yield for the USMLE exams. If you have time until November then I would suggest finishing the Kaplan IM book at least once before your exam. It should take about 1-1.5 months.
However if you are already strong in IM and have understood most of Medstudy and are comfortable with the concepts to attempt them in the USMLE, maybe you can just register with Uworld (if you haven't already) and attempt a few blocks and see how you score. If you are able to get even more than 50% right and the explanations click with what you have already learnt then you probably can do without Kaplan.
You have to try and see what works for you. Good luck!:)
