Default This was a better program

I'd tried them all.. Finally…after several failures…a tutoring company ...-set up by current PGY-3 I IMG resident helped me (an IMG from India) succeed with ultra-high yield content that ultimately got me through! Email me directly ( subject header “Best of the best…tutor help needed…”) using enycity at g mail. GL!

You're not giving enough info to help you.
What did you use for Step 2 prep? How long did you prepare? How did you study for the previous attempt? What do you plan to change? What do you think might be the problem?
NBME/UWSA scores?
Did you take S1? NBME/UWSA for Step1?How well did they correlate with the real deal?
Personally, I didn't find DIT helpful for step1. Most of the people, who found DIT useful for S1, didn't have enough patience for first aid memorization.
Memorization of factoids is much less emphasized in S2.

thank you for your reply everybody.
for previous step2 attempt:
I read KLN, MTB 2/3, UW (not complete). I made my own notes as well and reviewed them. also reviewed my notes from step1 as needed. i watched some videos on youtube. didn't do any assessments because i was told they're not so important for step 2 and I didn't have the option to postpone the test. I'm working full-time 40hours a week, took 2 weeks off before my test day. total time about a year. with work and other distractions my study hours weren't consistent.

for step 1 i got 212 first attempt, my assessments didn't reflect my score at all (that also contributed to me not taking assessment for CK) as the last NBME was 230, previous assessments were increasing leading to the 230. so i was shocked with my result.
the problem is memorizing i think, mixed with motivation (with work i came back wanting to chill a bit). i think i am more motivated now but i don't think doing what i had been doing would help (unless it's proven otherwise by experience then i'll keep doing it). i choose to go with a course because it's very structured and watching a video seems to make facts stick more than just reading .. I also read that many people used step up book, wondering if i should get it or stick to my notes and mtb/uw

thank you i realy appreciate ur replies.

Well, it's tough to say at what level your current knowledge is. I would recommend starting with the big books( step up to medicine, blue prints/case files), then do kaplan qbank and follow up with Uworld. Find a study partner with whom you can work together and have regular sessions. Think about WHY do you want to go to residency and find your motivation that will keep you pushing forward. You MUST to at least 2 forms of assessment before going to the actual exam.( UWSA+ NBME7)
