Help Starting off with CK prep

Hi Guys!
i started off with my Ck prep recently. and i am hoping to giv my exam by mid august. InshAllah. i hav a quick query, would be glad if neone cud be of help here..
1. How important is MTB-2 in CK prep? is it the bible of step2 like FA was for step1?or just doing Kaplan LN 2-3 times is sufficient?

2. When should MTB be incorporated into the study plan. With the first read of Kaplan LN and videos? or with the 2nd read of Kaplan LN?? i superficially went through it and found that MTB is more like a review of Conradfischers IM lectures. so wouldnt iit be better if we Complement the Kaplan videos with MTB?

Im in the same boat as you my friend.

I started off with using Kaplan Notes supplementing it with step up to step 2 ck. It working pretty well. I would for sure use a qbank along with your studies (1 block per day sounds good considering we have our exams in august).

MTB is also a very very good book, i own it as well. I think you should use either step up or MTB immediately along with studying.

My plan was to finish my first reading of the KN within 5 weeks from now. I scheduled myself to attend the Kaplan CK lectures in 5 weeks time. so thats going to be my 2nd read through the notes. When i finish the program, that essentially gives me 1 more month of intense studying before the exam.

I was going to then just do qbanks and read the MTB book. I think its a nice read through which will allow me to review topics rapidly. Hopefully this sounds like a good plan of action, but im welcome to any advice if any of the step 2 ck guru*s have any advice or opinions.

going to do the USMLE world qbank during kaplan live course, currently using the kaplan qbank plus.

Hey bro,

Do you think KLN are necessary? I mean people told me the videos are handy for things like OB GYN (cause given sections in MTB are relatively short), but for IM? I dont want to sit there for months reviewing KLN + videos like Step 1 (such a bi*ch).

I'm thinking of strictly MTB + UW in 3 months, doing like 3-4 revisions of those. Sufficient?

Determining what to study is harder than the actual thing.

Hi there!
sounds like a good plan! so we r init together then!

so u are not doing Kaplan Videos at all? ya if u are going to the Kaplan Course, ull prolly not need it! my plan was to do Kaplan Videos for IM and ObsGyn along with LN in 6weeks. then another round of Kaplan LN + MTB along with Kaplan Qbank in like 4 weeks! though the whole video watching part, bores me to death. but i dnt want to regret in the end.

so heres wat i wana know.. are u doing Kaplan Qbank with ur frist read? u think i should start it now as well? even i plan to do it subjectwise.
n how good is stepup2 medicine? i was thinking of ordering it. is it any better than MTB?
