Embarrassed Exam in one month

Hi

I have been studying for CK for a long time.

NBME 7 in Dec- projected score 147
NBME last week projection 187

Started uworld (3rd time) 2 days ago and focusing on my weak areas first as outlined by NBME.
On 56th percentile (better than 56% of people) even for my weak areas.

Have an exam scheduled for March 30.

Any suggestions?

If I can complete uworld one more time with once repeat of wrong answers.

Should I proceed with the date? or should I cancel this one and apply to ECFMG for extension?
Or should I decide a little further into prep time? May be a week before?

Please suggest

Thanks

Perhaps instead of doing UWorld again, it would be more helpful to read Family Practice Examination and Board Review. The book was very useful for me, and one month is easily enough time to read it. Also, you could watch paul bolin videos on youtube on topics that you are currently need to improve on. Good luck.

Hey dr. minhas,

I agree with Kruno that repeating UWorld for a third time doesn't seem to be a good idea. While UWorld is THE best resource for Step 2 CK, after going through the qbank twice you should have a much higher score when doing the NBMEs.

How long have you been studying? It seems like there are still some significant knowledge gaps. How much time did you invest per UWorld block?

It may be advisable to look more extensively why you get practice questions wrong. Do you feel like you haven't covered those topics yet or do you feel like making a lot of "stupid" mistakes, e.g. missing a few key words in the question stem, reading too fast through the answers, etc.

I do not recommend to take the exam in 1 month if you've already studied for a long time and the NBME scores are not satisfying yet. Something may have gone wrong during your dedicated study time and you have to fix it ASAP before taking the exam.

max_volume, what do you suggest if they already did uworld that many times and are still getting those scores then? How would you address those gaps?
