Sorry to hear daniel_alex. I don't think you should quit because you made it this far from doing medical school and allowed to even take the usmle's.

What was your study strategy resources and method in the attempt on ck? Was step 1 recent or a long time ago?

Can you take a screenshot of your score report and block your personal info? I haven't taken my exam yet but I did uworld x 2 and slightly above the passing mark with a practice nbme.

I think your goal should be like mine to aim above a 230 on the next attempt.

Have you done any other questions or reading? Maybe something needs to be adjusted in that on the next time but don't give up! Other people here will give a better response with more details.

thank you canica for taking some time ...

firstly i have to say that i am an IMG from india my friends all who studied along with me for step 1 quit just because they could not score well. my aim was to score well on CK and prepared accordingly and ASA i saw the report i was shocked and was so dissapointed.

my step 1 was on feb 2015 and for step 2 CK i did UW and kaplan once and also read MTB twice.

thanks canica i really appreciate your words.

Hi Daniel , i really think you should work hard , do a great score on step 2ck and try to persue your dream. take your time , dont rush into it , figure out what went wrong the first time and try not to make the same mistake. It needs concentration and faith, you will make it. Best of luck to you

I am from India as well. I will be honset without sugar coating it, it would be extremely hard to get into residency with attempts in both the steps. Though you might be hard working, residency programs have no real way of looking at the academic potenial of imgs other than the usmle scores (unless you have an exceptional transcript perhaps).
If this is what you want to pursue, then don't give up. With attempts in both steps though you have to figure out a way to stand out. Try to get extensive research experience at top hospitals, do observerships or externships and start developing contacts. Without contacts or an exceptional cv to help you out, it would be very tough road ahead.
