EKG Ventricular tachycardia & AF simultaneously?

It is written in IM KLN that:

"Independent & asynchronous atrial & ventricular contractions produce the following signs. These signs are absent when AFib is present.
1. Variation in systolic BP, as measured peripherally
2. Variation in the intensity of heart sounds
3. Intermittent cannon waves in the jugular venous pulses caused by simultaneous contraction of the aorta & the ventricles
4. Extra heart sounds."

Can anyone explain please. I remember reading this somewhere before but I can't recall the concept now.
