Start with Kaplan lecture notes for all subjects and watch the videos as well. annotate in MTB-2. Get a UW subscription after the first read and reread MTB at least 2 more times.

Someone recently suggested that he read Medstudy for his Step 2 prep.
Anyone tried it for their Step 2 prep?

Default USMLE Step 2 CK Preparation

I am also new to the forum and I need a lot of help from members who have been through it. I am a final year medical student in UK and hope to start with Step 2 CK since it is closer to the clinical subjects I am currently studying for my finals. I have bought these books already:-

1. USMLE Step 2 Secrets 3rd Ed
2. Step-Up to USMLE Step 2 2nd Ed
3. USMLE Step 2 Made Ridiculously Simple 5th Ed 2012

And I hope to subscribe to USMLE-World Q bank 3 months before exams.

I am planning to take the exam in June 2013. Are these resources adequate for a very good/high score, say above 240? Your help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

If you are aiming for 240+ then I suggest you subscribe to UW now and do it along with your rotation(s). Do it multiple times and understand every word from it and make notes.
The choice of review books is yours since they are equally bad. They are good enough for passing and maybe getting close to 240 with UW as the main source.
I suggest sticking to your textbooks ( Not by British author but US author since this is USMLE) or you might want to have a look at KLNs.

Thank you Novobiocin for your advice! Really appreciate it. I am still engrossed in preparing for my degree final exams which are only 3 weeks away. I will subscribe to UW soon after I finish them.

Again Thank You!

U world is a must for sure. If you have a lot of time MTb 2-3 and u world as many times as you can and I personally think the new color 8th edition of FA is the best book out. However like novo said the books all equally have their weaknesses and Uworld is the most important tool. I personally think you should read one book and make sure you have a handle on the material. then do uworld timed random. Take the uwsa closer to exam and use nbmes as well if u have the cash. In the end there is no magic secret it's about putting in a lot of time. The more you study the better you will do on the test and in life as an actual practicing physician. Good luck you will get a great score!!

Great piece of advice Kas123! Very encouraging. I feel invigorated to hit the road running soon after my finals. And sounds like it will be Uworld all the way

Thank You very much!!
