Default new game plan

hey guys

I am trying to decide on a new study plan for a second shot at CK.
* stick to question banks + get either step up or first aid (and which is better if you recommend this approach)
* get into a structured course: DIT, KAPLN on demand or success academy (which would u recommend)

my first attempt: i ran out of time alot in the real exam. i didn't finish UWorld due to time restraints. result 194. weak areas : psychiatry, behavioral health, diagnosis (starred ones).

I really appreciate the help
thank you

i recommended to a friend to do the uworld step 3 qbank before the he did the uworld step 2k qbank and he said it helped him out a lot. i did the same and scored >250. now, i also did usmlerx and kaplan, but im pretty sure those didnt help at all. i tried usmle consult too, but it was terrible. i think if you do the usmleworld step 3 qbank it will help you with your timing... which is probably a big reason for your lack of success on the first attempt.

the first aid ck book isnt good in my opinion... but the step up book looks alright. those courses you mentioned... i doubt that they are very effective. have you seen the paul bolin youtube videos? they were great for me.. there may be too many to watch, but perhaps select videos could help you.

You should take it again because you were very close and nobody should give up after an attempt in any case. But you have to do 30+ points beter at least!

How did you prepare and study in the 1st attempt? How did you use uworld? nbme scores from before?

A 194 means you should focus on all the subjects + the ones you said you were weak on.

If possible, can you post a screenshot of your nbme or score report and remove your personal details? It is easier to see something you may have overlooked.

I took the USMLE Success Academy's Step 2 CK Program and I passed with a score of 242! Even though their CK online program is great, you should also use a reliable Qbank alongside it, such as UWorld in order to build your overall knowledge, test taking stamina, and experience answering questions under similar circumstances and time constraints of the actual exam. You should also follow the Success Academy's advice of taking a few NBME exams before you sit for the actual exam to make sure you are meeting the score you are trying to get.

To jedimed: My personal experiences preparing for the exams are meant to guide my fellow colleagues and not as an advertisement. Instead of commenting on other members' posts, why don't you offer any of your personal insights instead. I think this will be more beneficial to the members on this forum than your empty comments...

Well there are a lot of things people here shouldn't be doing on spending their $$ because misleading intentions.

The vast majority of the course you used has been clearly spamming and advertising in this forum in such ways. You never hear about it elsewhere because those posts are removed. Ethically, who would want to spend $$ on a company that clickbaits people?
