Prometric exam cancelled because of technical problems

So the biggest night mare of my life happened today. I had my exam today and the exam got cancelled because of technical issues at prometric. I had almost done 15 questions in the first block. I am really stressed out. They said I ll have to call at the customer service and reschedule. I dont know how to go about it now. I am really very stressed out. Does anyone have any information that I should care about regarding this? The prometric lady told me they can accommodate me if there is no available date for this month.

Since this is a special circumstance, you will have to call them up to do this. It can't be done online.
Also, since it's due to fault at their end, you won't have to pay a penny.

So just call up the prometric customer care number & reschedule. Dates are usually always available a week in advance.

Where did u take the exam ?

I had started my exam and done 6 questions. They seemed easy so far. and my exam got cancelled. Just wanted to update on what is happening. So I contacted prometric candidate care service yesterday. At first their system had no knowledge of the event. This was at 12:00 pm and I was told to call the next day for further information. I called again by 6 pm. They now knew what happened and I was told to call NBME for further assistance. Knowing that it was after their working hours I still called NbME. There was no one to talk to so I emailed at the given address regarding the problem. Next day I called NBME again. First I got the voice mail so I left a message regarding the whole problem and hung up. Later called again to see if I could talk to someone. Whoever picked up from the other end was pretty rude and wasn't helpful at all she told me to call ECFMG. I felt like throwing something on her face for that lol. but I politely thanked her and hung up. Then someone called me from the NBME, following up on the voice mail and she counseled me a bit on the matter. She told me that it would take 2 or 3 days for your problem to be processed and then someone would contact you.

I am so stressed cause of the situation that I can't study anymore. I still have plenty of time in my eligibility period. Should I just extend the exam further. It would just be rushing into it and further ruining it. Let me mention here that my score in the last NBME wasn't really great I was just gonna give it under pressure. Now that this has happened I believe I should not take any risks? any suggestions would be really appreciated.

Well maybe you were meant to get this second chance! If you have time then don't rush it.. Give it when you are ready!

Update: nbme mailed me my new permit and also extended my eligibility period a month for free.. Wow the last case I read on the web was someone with their exam being cancelled, had problems with eligibility period extension which she had to pay. I am glad at their rapid and sensible response. Prometric also mailed me about the matter. They said they will contact me once the permit is available If not then they will automatically reschedule the exam to the next available date. In case I don't want that I have to call the said number. I am probably going to do that.

Honestly, I think it is a rare instance but can happen anywhere. Anyone taking the exam should try to do it at a better center. Go for it. Good luck.

similar thing happened with me.The head office of prometric says that they dont have any such of information of technical fault..i dont noe wat to do nxt..plz help !!

Call them tomorrow once again. It takes time for the head office to know of the problem. Call them tomorrow once again hopefully they would be knowing about it.
