Difference between MTB 2 and 3

Hi! I am new to step2 CK prep. Could you please tell me what is the difference between MTB 2 and 3? And which one is better? I think I have the first edition of MTB, will that help or the new editions are way more different?

I read them a couple years ago when I did the exams, but i cant remember much other than that they didnt help me. anything useful from the books was basic and i already it knew very well... and the stuff i didnt know wasnt even on my exam. that equates to a low return (if any) to the time i invested in the books.

essentially though, if you are going to read them they you might as well read both. the material overlaps, and both books are equally useless.

i dont know of a mtb for step 1... but i did buy mtb internal medicine and mtb pediatrics for my brother. i didnt study either of those, so i cant comment much. however, i read a little of the peds one and its very different from the other mtb books. its like kaplan lecture notes for pediatrics, but with a lot more detail.

I was looking for some help in my topic here : 8 week study plan advice adjustment? 43% average on usmle world ck. Are the Kaplan videos possible in that time and worth it?

Do you guys know how the kaplan lecture notes CK are without the videos instead of MTB? Are the lecture notes possible to read in 8 weeks?
