Lungs DLCo Diffusion Capacity in Chronic Bronchitis versus Emphysema

How we make difference between chronic bronchitis and emphysema on basis of Carbon Monoxide CO diffusion, how much percent will gas diffuse in bronchitis and emphysema?

I think alveoli are destroyed in emphysema so CO diffusion is effected but still alveoli not much effected in chronic bronchitis so diffusion is effected but not as much as emphysema.

Dlco increases in asthma and chronic bronchitis but decreases in emphysema

CO diffusion is DECREASED in emphysema and normal in all the other obstructive diseases (asthma, bronchitis)
